Dear Friend of NAVS,
Increasing public awareness and understanding of the many issues surrounding animal experimentation is the backbone of NAVS’ mission. That’s why I’m proud to share with you the exciting news that our efforts have once again been recognized on the international stage, with NAVS being named to the shortlist for the 2018 LUSH Prize for Public Awareness.
This prestigious prize honors “individuals or organisations raising public awareness of ongoing animal testing.” LUSH’s recognition of NAVS is based on the full range of our programs—from empowering advocates to speak out in support of animal-friendly legislation, to encouraging and fostering the development of new methodologies that replace the use of animals, to promoting humane science to students in their formative years and beyond.
It is because of dedicated supporters like you that we can be so effective.
This recognition is both an honor and a validation of the important work that NAVS does every day—and has done for nearly 90 years. And the impact of our work can be seen not only among our own supporters, but among the general public. In 2001, only 26 percent of Americans considered the use of animals for medical testing to be “morally wrong.” Today, that number has increased to 43 percent. And as more and more people come to understand the fallacy and cruelty of animal testing, that number will continue to grow.
NAVS’ efforts to educate, advocate and bring about humane solutions are only successful because of you. Help NAVS continue to be a force for change with a donation today.
Thank you for your support,Kenneth Kandaras
