As the days and months go by, calendars mark our celebrations of holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. They also remind us of appointments and meetings and things to be done.
The NAVS 2014 calendar is a one-of-a-kind time table that also commemorates the lives of animals saved from disasters and cruelty thanks to the generosity of NAVS’supporters. Displaying this unique calendar in your home or office can be an inspiring reminder that you can make a difference for animals in desperate need. For a limited time, the NAVS’ 2014 calendar is available for purchase and you can help us continue to write happy endings for animals in need.
NAVS’ Sanctuary Fund is an emergency financial assistance program developed to provide immediate intervention for animals in life-threatening situations. NAVS Sanctuary Fund grants have helped retire chimpanzees to sanctuaries; rebuild shelters destroyed by hurricanes, tornadoes and other natural disasters; rescued animals from abusive situations; conducted wildlife rehabilitation efforts; and supported innovative spay/neuter programs.
NAVS’ 2014 calendar features remarkable animals who have been helped by a NAVS Sanctuary Fund grant. Thanks to the generosity of supporters to the Sanctuary Fund, NAVS has made a difference in the lives of countless animals. Some of their stories are shared in this beautiful, full-color calendar.
- The adorable kitten featured in January was born in a shelter after her pregnant mother was rescued from a hoarding situation. And kindness was “paid forward” when this kitten’s mother nursed two other kittens in addition to her own litter.
- Aunt Ida, a charming 10-year-old husky and shepherd mix featured in July, was spared from euthanasia at a shelter when her time was running out. Now she’s out of danger and waiting for a new home!
- Foxie and Negra, featured in November, are two chimpanzees who where exploited as “breeders” housed in research laboratories where their babies were taken from them. Within a month of arriving at a sanctuary, Foxie adopted a doll to care for – and has since amassed a collection of surrogate “babies”.
Every animal in this unique calendar has a compelling story. The happy endings made possible by the NAVS Sanctuary Fund and the amazing sanctuaries and rescue organizations who provided safe havens give us hope for a more compassionate world. You can be a part of the next chapter by purchasing and giving NAVS’ 2014 calendar for yourself and as gifts for friends and relatives. The total cost for a calendar is $15 (including shipping).
